Flu shots are now available at Rural Health! Flu shots are an easy way to help ensure your families health and wellbeing during the winter months! The CDC (2016) highly recommends everyone 6 months of age and older receive a yearly flu vaccine! Receiving a flu vaccine helps decrease doctor visits, missed school and work days and most importantly prevent flu related hospital visits and death related to flu associated complications. Rural Health offers pediatric flu vaccines for children 6 to 36 months of age, pediatric/flu vaccines for individuals 36 and older and high dose flu vaccines for individuals 65 years of age and older. The Rural Health Clinic in Metropolis is participating in the Metropolis Chamber of Commerce Scarecrow decorating contest. The public is invited to vote for their favorite scarecrow with donating money at Metropolis Chamber of Commerce. The winner will receive all donations collected to donate to their Massac County charity of choice. If you haven’t seen the scarecrow displays down Market Street yet, be sure to check them out and vote! They look great!

We are excited to announce our new registration and check-in process!

Our kiosk allows us to streamline the often-cumbersome process of paperwork and lets us focus on you, our patient. Our new electronic check-in will help:

  • Provide a better patient experience for you
  • Reduce paperwork for everyone – patients & staff
  • Provide in real-time, your insurance and benefit information
  • Shorten the time you spend in our waiting room
  • Allow us to give you more personalized attention

When you arrive for you appointment, you will simply walk up to the kiosk which is located to the right of the reception window. Look for the √- in signage. Please have your driver’s license and insurance card ready before you touch the kiosk screen. The kiosk will ask you a series of questions AND ask you to scan your driver’s license and insurance card. (You may put the cards back in your wallet after you are done checking in) The process the first time may take you a little longer, but the next time you visit, you will be asked only to veri
